It’s all in the journey

He came to me with this crazy dream, and began to tell me all about it. Recollections of him standing on his head and his deceased mother being there, but not being able to hear her and all sorts of other things.

I asked his spirit what this was about, and heard her laughter as a response. “He’s trying way too hard.” So I lovingly said to him “you’re trying way too hard. Stop trying so hard.” Immediately he came back with a “how the hell am I not supposed to try so hard?!” The tone of ‘you have got to be kidding me’ was so obvious in his voice it made me grin.

Often in the journey with spirit, we forget that it’s a journey. Too often in pursuing our personal development, our intuitive gifts, the song of our soul, we turn it into the seeking of a particular destination instead of the joy and curiosity of exploration. I’m no different.

I’m gonna be totally honest. If anyone, including me, ever tells you that they have “arrived,” you are either A) standing in front of the great enlightened Buddha, B) they’re lying and trying to sell you something, or C) they are so bound by their own ego they can’t even see themselves straight. I say that with laughter and love and incredible sincerity. People, it is a journey, not a destination!

I implore you to slow down on this incredible ride of life. Let yourself take a new route to work, learn to cook something new for dinner, go somewhere or do something you have never done before, shake things up in the tiniest ways. Be curious, explore, let this time here on this incredible planet and playground we call earth be filled with exploration and curiosity and questions that allow answers to materialize from the ether of your intuition and your spirit. If we could all just stop making it so hard!

Trust me, I am speaking to myself as well as to anyone of you. Let’s hold hands, let’s enjoy the ride together, let’s share incredible stories of our adventures, and our discoveries, and in that we will all expand, and we will all grow, and we will all discover incredible gifts within ourselves, and within this world. We will see Grace and Love in the eyes of the people on the path alongside us. We will find exactly what we are looking for. We just need to remember that it is a journey.

Forever the journey, Anne
