I’m ok if you are uncomfortable

I’m ok if you are uncomfortable

The conversation was deep and multi-layered.

In this time of incredible ancestral healing, she was finding her own space amid family of origin patterns while she was working through how those patterns were showing up in her children’s generation as well. Feeling herself to be a bit in the middle of the dynamic, was a little bit like a tight squeeze, but not the huggy wonderful soft kind… the other kind. The kind that feels like restriction, the kind that feels like holding your breath a little bit too long. The kind that feels like a weight of responsibility, for outcomes that you have no control over.

Oh, I know we have all been there.

Spirit stepped in and spoke.

“Be OK with their discomfort as you are OK with your own.”

Spirit went on to speak about this time as we are searching for the core themes. We are trying to see the root of the proverbial weed so that we can yank it out of the ground and dismantle these old wounds.

Sometimes it can feel like a tremendous weight and responsibility.

The guides make it incredibly clear that this sense of weighted responsibility is not the intention. The intention is to create a sacred space for healing. The feeling of weight and responsibility is us falling back into an old wound, which is simply our soul’s way of drawing our own attention to it. Oftentimes, it is so much easier to see the sense of woundedness showing up in those around us and it is harder to see that same wound currently playing its way through to ourselves.

Wisdom allows us the ability to recognize our own space of discomfort and come to a place of shared peace. That the discomfort is simply the old wound pushing up against us, which is exactly what gains our awareness. We actually need the discomfort in order to come to awareness! There’s the rub.

Once we step into the place of our own discomfort and come to peace with the idea that that is us working through the old wound, we can begin to establish that sacred space for those around us. The holding of this space is not us going to work trying to fix the problem or trying to make other people realize what the wound is. The sacred space is simply being at peace with the idea that the people around us are indeed uncomfortable.

Holding the sacred space that allows discomfort is the exact same space that allows growth and change and possibility.

Think back to something that you were trying to learn that was really, really hard for you. It was uncomfortable to be in the place of not knowing, but the growth that came when you understood, when you finally learned the thing, was tremendous!

We are in that very same season right now. Holding sacred space from a place of being OK within your own discomfort, understanding that there is a learning curve moving through like a current that moves the water down a river, is simple and powerful. Allowing people to be where they are at, doing the best that they can do in their respective journey, is the grace that we experience when we are OK with discomfort.

Holding a place of safety in your own discomfort, allows you to hold a place of safety, that sacred space, for those around you in their discomfort as well. It’s not ever about solving the problem for them. We can guide. We can have powerful conversations. We can drop little words here and there, but we absolutely cannot solve the problem for someone else. It is impossible for us to make someone understand and grow.

We have no agency in someone else’s development and what they are ready or not ready to transmute inside of themselves. All we can be is a safe observer that allows them permission to be uncomfortable, and to know that they are safe and loved while they are uncomfortable.

In this time, mind your need to “fix” other people. Bring that up in front of you so that you are aware of it and you can understand the core themes that are moving through that need. Why is “fixing it“ so important to you? What does your inner voice make you believe is either gained or lost in the fixing? And what preconceived versions of the truth are you living in as reality, that are trying to get your attention to let you know that it is time to see that they were simple misconceptions and it’s time for them to evolve further?

Feeling safe, being OK with being uncomfortable in the midst of huge transmutations, is challenging AND an incredible gift. Allowing yourself, from that place of kindness, to hold sacred space for others to do the same; to stand in places of discomfort without an imposed agenda, is true love.

Forever the journey, Anne
